I spent about four years working for 92 WICB, an FCC-licensed radio station in Ithaca, NY. I began my experience as a newscaster and modern rock DJ and eventually transitioned to assistant news director and news director positions. During the 2012-2013 school year, I served as news director and was responsible for all news production on the station. I trained and “air-checked” about 20 newscasters and produced a weekly local news program on WICB, Ithaca Now. As executive producer, I identified and contacted guests for live or pre-recorded interviews for the show, assigned stories to a small team of about 5 other reporters, wrote and reported my own stories, and edited all content for the program. Here are a few examples of my work on the station.
